Eureka!" after discovering that the volume of water displaced must be equal to the volume of the object submerged - the idea had come to him in his bath, while holding the kings crown - who had brought it to Archimedes as he was supicious that his gold smith was diluting the gold in his crown with silver. In his haste, he forget to put his clothes on, and promtly ran onto the street with the crown to proclaim his discovery.
